May we frame curriculum such a manner For Post Covid schools which will be based on skill applications, or application based instead of normal chalk and talk methods. Moreover why can’t we ask children to decide the commerce or science or arts in IX std itself and schools will prepare them for higher education and competitive exam for next three years that is IX to XIII.

We need to focus on futuristic curriculum ,
ReplyDeleteEducation supposed to be integration of caliber, skill and environmental requirements.
Is our system is going to accept such type proposal?
ReplyDeleteIn India most of parents, students and teachers focus on board results. Society also assess the child accordingly.
Our education system is moving around the pen and paper test rather skill.
Can we do skill analysis rather Result analysis?
After Covid , How the Assessment system of X and XII will change?

ReplyDeleteCBSE is providing various relaxations to the students like recently it has reduced the syllabus by 30% and has made the marking scheme also easy, will this not impact student's quality? Should CBSE not try to make students strong enough to bear tensions?

Transparency is the need the hour amongst government , schools , teachers, parents and students.
ReplyDeleteAs we are living in covid19 era...I have one question that why our education system not create atmosphere where skills important rather than marks. Give them platform at school level.
ReplyDelete๐Yes, like skills to survive in any kind of situation. Practical skills and one subject can be added as per choice of students. ๐
DeleteI feel that there should be some awareness program for parents also by CBSE because this tripolar process is loosing it's meaning when parents are not ready to cooperate.
ReplyDeleteWhat were the assessment criteria at Secondary (K-10 )& Senior -secondary stages pre-coivid era in Canada ? Is there a change in these criteria now ?

As we are facing a lot of challenges during this period, mostly we are worried about the courses specially maths, how to cover through online classes

ReplyDeleteOn line classes are not succes in villages ,namely children are facing net work coverage problem.
ReplyDeleteHow to reduce children's anxiety and challenges.
Post covid ,we have to first help reduce the anxiety , make the students as well as parents ready to face the challenges -not only regarding covid but also the economic scenario has to be restablished particularly in village's. Government has to show more interest regarding this .Some survey has to be conducted not only to check how many kids are there in an area ,but also they should be provided study materials. Parents again have to be motivated to build the study environment and that building human capital is not just government responsibility.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, beside online classes, assesment has to done ,to check whether students are studying. Some activities ,creative as well as some practical one should also be provided.
Schooling has to be made compulsory, particularly in rural areas as soon as possible. It is now to be online as well as regular classes with some benficial activities.
Payment problem of private school teachers has to controlled by BOARDS, to stop any type of exploitation, whether of teachers or students.
Government can't say no payment to private teachers, without motivation no one can work wholeheartedly....thanks.

Deletewe are facing the same issues, especially in the Primary sections. In the senior sections however, students are writing assignments in Google Docs. Also we are exploring many short answer type question options in Google Forms. These are very helpful.

Dear Sir/Madam I hope nothing is impossible in the field of IT. I am telling you the way by which you schedule Test for your children. Just use a website www.testmoz.com, click on build test-> Provide Test Name and choose password but be careful it is your admin password -> click on build-> click on setting option displayed in the left panel-> Do required setting such as Time limit for Test, Password, attempts to appear etc. Click on Insert option -> select question type such as MCQ, Filler, Matching etc -> set your correct answer in the question paper, It won't be visible to the user but after submitting answer sheet immediately correct answer and report of exam will be displayed there. -> Use admin password to login -> click on result -> Export to CSV excel file and prepare your result. I hope it will assist you. Thanks
DeleteThanks, will try out this option. The time limit option should be very useful. i used Timefy, But its a paid option. so you pay for every bulk test.
Delete"Post -Covid" seems a long way ahead. Schools and teachers are adopting innovative pedagogical strategies to transact the curriculum. The cellphone has emerged as the life saver without which neither students nor teachers are able to move forward. How will we be able to wean students off the device post-covid?
ReplyDelete1. Will we need to relax our strict no cellphone in school policy to allow students access to devices for quick research?
2. An acute concern is the over-dependency of mobile devices. Students do not want to engage with topics, grapple with problems and work hard for solutions; in the new scheme of things, its easy to reach out to a search engine and get a ready made answer. How do we tackle with this problem?
3. While some skills are being developed marvelously, development of other skills is taking a back burner. This is a great concern in the Primary classes where they are not writing enough. Its easy to "consume" video lectures, mark answers on google forms but the important skill of noting down things, writing out answers is suffering at a colossal level.

DeleteThis challenging situation has transformed the way education is imparted. How can we tweak our syllabus and assessment pattern to ensure that the good part of this digital transformation is retained.
ReplyDeleteThe notion of an educator as the knowledge-holder who imparts wisdom to their pupils is no longer fit for the purpose now. With students being able to gain access to knowledge, and even learn a technical skill, through a few clicks on their phones, tablets and computers, we will need to redefine the role of the educator in the classroom, lecture theatre and during online interaction. This may mean that the role of educators will need to move towards facilitating young people’s development as contributing members of society. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in educational institutions across the world being compelled to suddenly harness and utilize the suite of available technological tools to create content for remote learning for students in all sectors. Educators across the world are experiencing new possibilities to do things differently and with greater flexibility resulting in potential benefits in accessibility to education for students across the world.

ReplyDeletewe need to have such curriculum based on the above skills and teachers and parents have to be motivated in such a way that they can encourage the students and also school, which may help for the holistic and comprehensive development of child.
Can we have focus on the above skills in a structured curriculum, so that assessment as learning will be a systematic process.

Dear Sir/Madam
ReplyDeleteWe are facing the problem of digital division i.e. my school belong to rural area, so most of the students reside in villages where there is a poor connectivity of Internet. So what are the steps that should be taken by us to deliver better education in rural area also? Second thing is that 'How diksha portal will assist us to conduct the exam'? Parents underestimate the online learning process. They don't get satisfaction. How would we motivate them.
The COVID-19 PANDEMIC has affected all the corners of society. The Education Sector is facing many major challenges. The negative impact of COVID-19 also has some positive significance. It has given an opportunity to re-frame current Education system. In India, there are many places where one cannot have access to Internet or network. The need for up gradation is high and it can be achieved only by upgrading country's technology. The current Indian Education system is like a automatic machine. When a child enters school we ll switch on the Machine switch and machine runs until that child gets a job and again that grown up child admits his/ her child amd process repeats. This process of producing machines should be changed and here is the time to think over it.

ReplyDeleteA good initiative by CBSE๐
ReplyDeleteThank you to CBSE for hosting this very essential and Positive Panel Discussion. Gives us hope to continue the hard work that the Board, Schools and Teachers have been putting through. Liked what Dr. Ananya Mukherjee had shared "We (people) need to be the participants in Shaping the New Normal and Education is not Limited to Materialistic Resources". In a country like India, with such vast cultures and differences, in terms of Economical diversities! We will take time, and with the kind of Focus that CBSE has initiated We Shall Overcome this situation definitely!
ReplyDelete"Awareness of Parents and Students towards the Pandemic and the Efforts of the Teachers of creating a Platform for a Student Centric Education System" How do Schools in rural and remote areas going to do so?

Very apt discussion,The most alarming and challenging situation in India during this pandemic is that on one hand we need to update and invest on technology and building of recording studios and demands a huge investments and on the other hand due to loss of jobs and slowdown ,the parents are unable to pay the school fees. How to manage!

The main problem we actually facing is the lack of availability of internet facilities. Also a major part of the parents cannot afford the internet charges. If there is regular periods like normal schools it will be problem which need to rectify very urgently.

I am very thankfull today live stream on future education of post covid. I am from the behalf of Goodwill International School, Distt.Gurdaspur (Punjab).
ReplyDeleteMy question is that
How can we make online teaching learning more effective and get quick outcomes of virtual learning?
Because the 40% rural area parents are not convinced by the online study?
How to create platform and opportunity for the children of Pre-Primary to 5th Grade? The major issues with sections includes handling online classes/ sessions, upgrading rural area parents to digital access etc. There is need of developing new system of education that solves the most of the issues arising due to COVID-19.

What is the best and the fastest way to bring all teachers on board? The pandemic came without warning and teachers rose to the occasion with no preparation. How do we support our colleagues in school to enable them to take on this unprecedented role.
ReplyDeleteStudents, even fifth graders, are miles ahead in the way they deal with online classes. Sustaining social and emotional skills in these times-how do we do it?
